Katrina & Phil were married on Saturday at the Sands on Golden Lake. It was a hot one, the first really sunny day of my wedding season with temperatures around the 30 degree mark. Thank goodness it was on the lake – the breeze was awesome.
This is my second wedding with this wonderful family – I shot Katrina’s sisters wedding last year, so I was super excited when Alice (Katrina’s Mom) called me to shoot Katrina’s big day too. I love the Perkin Family – they are so happy and full of energy – you can’t help but laugh and smile with them. Katrina is such a positive, upbeat and genuine person – I could sit and chat with her for hours. And Phil – what an amazing man – he loves Katrina to the moon and back, you can tell just by the way he looks at her.
Their engagment story is one of the most original and romantic I have ever heard. I will sum it up quickly – although the whole story is WAY better. Phil sent Katrina by cab on a scavenger hunt to all their favorite spots in Ottawa – with clues at every location – leading her to the last spot at sunset where he appeared out of no where and got down on one knee!! SWOON!!! Oh and P.S. – he was in a cab behind her the entire time to make sure all went smooth!
You can image between Katrina’s fun nature and Phil’s romantic side – their wedding was to die for. So many sweet details and SO much to capture.
I really do adore this couple and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness! xo
